Cabinetry Dimension Guidelines 2.0 for Designers and Architects

The following information is meant to assist interior designers and architects when designing cabinetry intended to accommodate television and video equipment as part of a custom-installed entertainment system. If you need additional information, please contact Design Systems Ltd.

*Additional Considerations:
  1. TVs may have a cable set top box. Add 4"H x 19"W x 19"D space above or below the TV.
  2. VCR located with TV requires 6"H x 19"W x 19"D space above or below the TV. (VCR located behind doors in a cabinet other than the one that is open when the TV is in use requires the addition of a remote sensor for operation of the VCR's remote control.)
  3. Pocket doors: Add 6" to the width dimension. Add 8" for doors for 50" and up sizes.
  4. Pedestals that pull out and swivel: Add 5" to the height dimension.
  5. Pedestals that swivel only: Add 5" to the height dimension and add 6" to the width dimension.
  6. Pedestals that pull out only: Add 5" to the height dimension.
